The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority has implemented vehicle access restrictions on the Newport Pell and Jamestown Verrazzano bridges. House trailers/RVs, empty enclosed trailers, or any vehicle that, in the opinion of law-enforcement personnel, may not safely cross the bridge will be prohibited.

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority operates and maintains the Newport Pell, Mount Hope, Jamestown Verrazzano and Sakonnet River Bridges along with Route 138 through Jamestown and ten smaller bridges associated with this highway and the approaches to the four major bridges.

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority has lifted travel restrictions on the Newport Pell and Jamestown Verrazzano Bridges. All bridges are open for normal travel.
Due to expected inclement weather, the RITBA E-ZPass and Administration offices will be closed on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

RITBA has received numerous calls from individuals indicating that they received a text regarding an unpaid toll. This is a common scam and advise that you do not click the link. If you are an RI E-ZPass customer, you can always check the status of your bill at www.ezpassritba.com. If you have an E-ZPass account with another agency, please contact that agency directly.
