The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority operates and maintains the Newport Pell, Mount Hope, Jamestown Verrazzano and Sakonnet River Bridges along with Route 138 through Jamestown and ten smaller bridges associated with this highway and the approaches to the four major bridges.

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority has lifted travel restrictions on the Newport Pell and Jamestown Verrazzano Bridges. All bridges are open for normal travel.
Due to expected inclement weather, the RITBA E-ZPass and Administration offices will be closed on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

RITBA has received numerous calls from individuals indicating that they received a text regarding an unpaid toll. This is a common scam and advise that you do not click the link. If you are an RI E-ZPass customer, you can always check the status of your bill at www.ezpassritba.com. If you have an E-ZPass account with another agency, please contact that agency directly.

TRAVEL ADVISORY: Newport Pell Bridge – Lane closures and traffic pattern changes this weekend from Friday, March 28th at 9 AM through Monday, March 31st at 6 AM.
TRAVEL ADVISORY: Beginning Wednesday evening, April 9th, at 6:00 PM, crews will shift the median barrier on the Newport Pell Bridge to create a one-lane-in-each-direction traffic pattern that will remain in place until Thursday, April 10th, at 2:00 AM.
