Due to heavy wet snow and high winds expected to impact Rhode Island,
Governor Gina M. Raimondo has issued a proclamation
prohibiting tractor-trailer trucks from all state highways
beginning at 5 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, February 1st.Â

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority operates and maintains the Newport Pell, Mount Hope, Jamestown Verrazzano and Sakonnet River Bridges along with Route 138 through Jamestown and ten smaller bridges associated with this highway and the approaches to the four major bridges.

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority has lifted travel restrictions on the Newport Pell and Jamestown Verrazzano Bridges. All bridges are open for normal travel.
Due to expected inclement weather, the RITBA E-ZPass and Administration offices will be closed on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

TRAVEL ADVISORY: Newport Pell Bridge westbound off-ramp closure scheduled for Tuesday, December 10th from 6AM to 3PM.
